Early September was a time of inspiration in Milan. Our creative director, Tati Benvenuto, attended MICAM, the world’s leading footwear trade show, which gathered brands from all over the globe and unveiled four main trends for Spring-Summer 2026:
Whimsical Grunge
Grunge reimagined in a dreamy and unexpected way. Rebellion takes on an artistic, even romantic touch: short boots and backless mules share the spotlight with vintage-inspired sneakers and biker-style sandals with spikes and laces. Charms, fish-scale textures, and DIY details complete this authentic identity, where imperfection becomes beauty.
Moonbath
Inspired by tropical nights and bohemian energy, this trend celebrates lightness and craftsmanship. Crochet, fringes, tassels, and natural suedes blend with earthy tones. On the runway: fisherman sandals remain strong, now joined by clogs and thin-strap sandals. It’s a mood that connects body, spirit, and earth, with a mystical, festive vibe.
Serene Elements
A sensory minimalism seeking harmony with nature. Soft hues of mint green, stone gray, and aqua blue define the palette. Footwear highlights delicate contrasts — slingbacks with a chic twist, flat mules, crystal embellishments, subtle floral touches, and transparency effects. Every detail is designed for comfort and lightness, as if each shoe were a natural extension of the body.
Retro Surrealism
A nostalgic journey back to the 1950s and 60s, infused with old-money elegance and refined nostalgia. Polka dots, vichy prints, satin, and lightweight canvas revive a timeless spirit. Moccasins, kitten heels (especially mule versions), and vintage hues bring freshness to a style that is both familiar and surprisingly new.
The “powershift” of the season
Beyond aesthetics, Spring-Summer 2026 speaks about rhythm and purpose. Collections embrace slow living, artisanal values, and designs that nurture emotional and physical well-being. It’s all about reconnection — with ourselves, with others, and with nature.
